New Railway line UP : 81 Km of New Railway Line will be Laid in Uttar Pradesh, 12 New Railway Stations will be built.

New Railway Line UP :  Once again, a new railway line is being laid in Uttar Pradesh. Along with expressways, the railway network of UP is also being strengthened. For this, the state and central governments are working together.

Expansion of the Railway Line

Under the new railway line project in Uttar Pradesh, the railway line will be expanded. This will be 81.17 kilometers long and the work has been divided into three phases. According to the project, this line will serve as an alternative route for trains going from Gorakhpur to Varanasi and Lucknow.

Location of the New Railway Line

The North Eastern Railway has started work on the Sahjanwa–Dohrighat new railway line. In the first phase of the project, a 32.95 km long line will be laid from Sahjanwa in Gorakhpur to Bansgaon.

12 Stations to be Built

A total of 12 stations will be constructed on this new railway line in Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, 4 will be halt stations, while 7 crossing stations will also be developed. Land acquisition for the first phase of the project has already been completed.

Benefits for the People

In the second phase of the project, 185.78 hectares of land has been notified from Bansgaon to Barhalganj. Additionally, for the third phase, 12.82 hectares of land will be acquired from Barhalganj to New Dohrighat. Thousands of people will get employment opportunities once the railway line is completed. Local laborers and contractors will also get work.

Impact on Trade and Connectivity

After the construction of the new railway line, the distance between Gorakhpur and Varanasi will be reduced. Apart from this, transportation will become easier and trade activities will also accelerate. A large part of Purvanchal will be connected with better railway services, which will open new doors for business and employment.

This project will also have a direct impact on local residents. Members of the Railway Advisory Committee, Santosh Rai, and Business Association President, Shivkumar Jaiswal, along with other local representatives, said that the project will strengthen the region’s economic and social conditions. People will get new railway facilities to travel to Varanasi and Lucknow.
